Plantation Tours

Drayton Hall Plantation
Sites and Insights Tours provides convenient transportation to Drayton Hall in our 20 passenger mini-bus. Drayton Hall offers a guided tour of the house including its African-American Focus Program highlighting the roles enslaved Africans played on the Plantation.

Construction on the estate began in 1738 and was completed after four years by European and African American craftsmen. The plantation house is the only 18th century plantation house that's open to the public surviving seven generations of the Drayton family, two great wars and other natural disasters.

Tour rates: 2.5 Hour Tour $40 per person, 4 person minimum
Cost includes: transportation, house & guided tour/Focus Programadmission.

McLeod Plantation
On our Sea Island Tour of James Island, the visitor sees a part of McLeod Plantation from Folly Road. In order to visit the grounds, permission must be obtained from the present owner, The American College of the Building Arts.

Our guides will conduct a guided tour of the plantation. The kitchen house and some slave cabins are open. The main house is not open to the public. The land has been a plantation since 1678. This plantation is often a part of the Sea Island Tour with reservations made in advance.

Tour Rates: $7 per person additional as a part of our Sea Island Tour.
